First used some super glue to repair the cracks on the plastic drawer itself and then decided to use some broken matchsticks as guides to line up the fixing accurately to the front of the damaged drawer. Then a generous layer of the Gorilla impact adhesive on to the over-engineered & fiddly grey and then white plastic drawer fittings. I then placed everything in an industrial vice and weighted down the drawer front with some house bricks on top of a piece of 4 x4 wood.
I curtailed my natural impatience and left for 24 hours to cure..................
Hey presto next day everything had stuck solid & within 10 minutes the drawer was back in the sink area. Was I a hero..........saving the price of an expensive new drawer fitting from Hymer and learned an important lesson about ALWAYS securing the drawer front with some gaffer tape when in transit.
As an interesting aside that shows the deteriorating state of my memory & observation skills, I was fiddling about adjusting the jockey wheel. I use the above mentioned piece of 4x4 as part of my support on the hitch. I couldn't find it anywhere and chuntered irritably to Kath about how some reprobate must have nicked it from the drive, probably to burn as firewood. I spent a good 20 minutes looking all over for it to no avail getting increasingly grumpy.
And next morning when I went in the shed there it was in the vice weighing down the drawer door................
I rightly got some gentle abuse from Kath
