Hi everyone
Our Reich Comfort Motor Mover has given up the ghost on our Troll after 10 years excellent service. We have had it examined and a repair is possible but would cost over £400 with the part and the labour with no guarantee of how long it would last. We have been advised to spend that money on getting a brand new replacement.
Our servicer has put us on to a local chap they use to fit movers. He has just rung us to say that he deals in Powertouch not Reich, he has little experience of Eribas and thinks that the Powertouch ones don't fit Eribas easily, if at all. Also he would have to get a Reich from Midland Movers, and would not get it any cheaper than us. He has suggested that we contact them and get a price for them to fit a replacement one.
i want to ask if anyone has experience of Midland Motor Movers and if so would they recommend them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as Kath and I are having to move our Troll by hand at the minute and we are getting too old for that..............!
Cheers
MikeT

Mike, all I know is that they have a good reputation and are familiar with Eriba's.
Whoever you go with I'm guessing its best to stay with the same Reich as you would not need to replace the expensive brackets.

Mike. Midland Motor Movers comes highly recommended by many folk (we rely on Mrs R for moving our Troll) and the owner belongs to Eribafolk Facebook. Old age fade, his name escapes me (Richard Gorton?).................................

Hi John
When I was last using the mover at Strathclyde site there was a sudden loud ping and the door side motor mover wheel moved back a good half inch from the tyre and wouldn't move forward at all. The bathroom side was still moving........From then on we moved out Troll by hand.
We took it to our servicer yesterday. We left it with him and he rang us back in the afternoon. He had a look and said that a replacement part needed would be about £150 to order and then with labour and bits and bobs it would probably come to about £400. They couldn't do it now as they are snowed under with work. George was of the opinion that as the mover was nearly 10 years old we might be better spending that money towards a new one with a 5 year guarantee. They pass this work onto a mobile engineer they know who specialises in motor movers.
This engineer rang us last night. He is booked up until September but anyway specialises in Powertech (?) and we want another Reich. He could order us a Reich but he thinks we could get it as cheaply from Midland Motor Movers ourselves. He hasn't done much work on Eribas and said that, if he could do it eventually, he would be more expensive than Midland. He recommended that we speak with them.
I looked at their website last night and thought of upgrading to an automatic Easydriver Pro as Kath and I are not getting any younger and I don't think that she could handle turning the manual one far enough for it to engage on the tyre - I now don't find it easy anymore. It is expensive but it might be a necessary expense...............!!
Late last night I emailed them with some questions and am waiting for a reply. In fact I was just about to ring them but thought I would check the Forum first...
Thanks for your response
Mike

Mike, As above. Midland Motor Movers fitted a Reich Easymover Pro 1.8 to our Triton 420 about four years ago during Lockdown. Fitter turned up punctually and exactly as arranged, cracked on with the work and completed the fitting neatly and efficiently. The mover works reliably and easily. Good job all round! Recommended.
