Pop top up or down when sleeping?

Hiya

Just intrigued as to if you sleep with the pop top up or down when you sleep? On my trips so far left it down and the windows on "night lock" to help ventilate.
However, I run fairly hot and have found myself getting very hot and wishing I'd left the top open, but then the problem Is the light waking me early doors.

Anyone else experienced/have a solution for this? I wondered about the insulation for around the top but figured it'd keep the heat in and light out only solving one of my problems!

I do not think there is a way around stopping the light coming in when the top is up. In all bug the most inclement weather we sleep either the top up.

It's really something you have to live with with a poptop and canvas sides.

I had nothing to do on this hot afternoon

Silk Addict to a wonderfully soft and cool or warm, as appropriate, eye mask which cuts out all light. So no light problems from the canvas in the morning or the bright fridge light at night.

Same as above - roof always popped up and generally with the triangular vents open too (maybe roof down in a really bad storm?) and we wear sleep masks (padded Umisleep) in the early morning. Eriba will sell you an insulating strip for your pop-top for winter camping. It is lightproof too, I think. A tad pricey though... £283 for my 2016 Troll (same price it seems for Triton, etc.)
