Well you've hit the nail on the head:- razor sharp teeth and claws and a will to destroy anything soft or fabricy that it comes across.

No difference to a cat except a cat tends not to grow out of it. Although we do now leave our cat unattended in the Eriba as she's over 6 years old, we are still wary of the damage she might do.

Perhaps a small folding dog cage for the pup to sleep in until it grows up a bit. We still use a dog cage for the cat to travel in (plenty of room) and often she's happy to sleep in it and watch the world go by when we are sitting outside.
