Caravanstore Awning

Having looked through most of the threads on here concerning awnings I would like to use your expertise to answer a question for me. While lots of Eriba owners seem to use the caravanstore as a sun canopy does any one use the privacy room? I notice that the walls are a little high at the caravan side, but has anyone made an adaptation to make it fit? The reason that I ask is that I am pushing my payload and this would give me an awning with less weight.

We made one of the side walls fit by cutting the triangle off the top but in all honesty (and personal opinion) it was not very satisfactory. In the end we opted for a decent quality wind break from Isabella to give us more shelter and privacy.
I think there are some pics in the gallery in the sunshades album not the awning album.

Thanks Frantone we hadn't considered that but it certainly makes good sense. Now we have just been looking at the Kampa Pro , seems to fit the bill.

It is possible to make a front panel for them.

That's cool Hob, were do you get the fabric? Maybe sides could also be made as the caravanstore has side struts, doesn't it?

Yes it does, but my one at least didn't have a slot in them ....the front rail (the one it rolls up around) has a slot that takes 4 mm awning piping (as opposed to 6mm awning piping that fits the awning rail)

So I was able to sew 4 mm awning piping along the top edge and nylon strapping along the lower edge (the type used for rucksacks) and sew in some loops for bungee cord.

A little word of caution......the side struts of the Caravanstore are rather flexible and not designed for use to support a side panel. The side panels that Fiamma supply are supposed to be threaded into their rafter poles which are more substantial.
