We will be collecting our 1960s Pan next week. We are having to store it outside but would like to purchase a cover. Have seen a number of makers but would like to have advice from the experienced on this forum as to recommendations of the best available out there.

I personally use Specialised covers,I had one for my Puck and I now have one for my Familia, it is 6 years old and still fit for a few more years yet. It wasn't cheap however it is an excellent fit and using top quality breathable material. Protec is the another bespoke cover which also uses good quality material. I cannot comment on these as i have never had one.

Here is a link with some more info.

I enquired with Protec and got no answer - this was before their Dragons Den success. I have a 2nd hand Familia cover on our Puck L with no problems over 5 years.

It's a question of "you get what you pay for". We had a proper fitted cover (Protec) which we bought secondhand from a Forum member for our PuckL. It was a good cover and looked nice and neat as it fitted well. When we moved up to the Triton we decided to save some money and bought a generic cover (Towsure). It covers the van, keeps it clean but it's a lot bigger than the van (height not length) so you do have to strap it well to stop it billowing about. Both work, both do the job, the fitted one looks better. You will decide if that's worth the extra.

We have bought a protec cover for our Troll although we haven't used it yet. What I can say is you will wait for around 5 weeks for it to be delivered which is not mentioned anywhere on the website and communication with the company regarding delivery is zero. That said they have good reviews re quality and that's why we used them.

Our Protec cover has just survived its seventh season. All the weather has managed to do is to fade it. The garage mice have had a couple of good meals from it however when we put it away for the summer two years ago.

Having just been out to our currently covered Triton to get some tools, I can say how much I appreciate the Velcro door in the Protec cover being in exactly the right place for easy access.

Over the past six winters the cover has sustained some minor damage but this was generally due to my neglect in not adequately protecting sharp areas that wore through during gale force winds.

Repairs are easy. Just cut a bit of the spare material provided with the cover a bit larger than the damaged area and glue in place with Evostik.

I also have a Protec cover and whilst they don't like adding the Easy Fit system to the Eriba covers (for some reason), if you ask then nicely they will do it.
The entire rear section zips open and folds up making dragging the cover from front to back with the supplied poles really easy. My AL cover was really difficult to get on - the Protec takes seconds.

We have only one grouse about our Protec cover. It's grey but going green. We don't understand why. It's out in the fresh air but If there's a next time we'll get a dark green one. Otherwise we're on season 4 and its doing well.

Catalaneriba was talking about these the other day. A Facebook member from the Netherlands, Marion Striepe, was showing photos of one and I've shared some on here.

I was about to say it looks like a labour of love one off special, and then I noticed a logo/emblem above the door in photo 4. Unfortunately I cannot zoom in enough to read it.
