Eriba fold out step

My Eriba triton step seems to have given up on me.
Does anyone know where you can get them fixed, how you take them off or a place to get a replacement?
Thanks Peter

When you say 'given up', what has gone wrong? In my experience they're ultra robust, so it's rare that they need repairing or replacement, except maybe after accident damage. They are listed as Thule steps and are about £150 plus fitting. Sold by good online caravan spares shops like Leisure Shop Direct. Or you can have an old plastic one of mine, pick up for free.

Ours became difficult to operate so I sprayed all the pivots with GT85 lube and it now works like new again.

I've been wary of lubricating the pivots on the step and steadies - The Good Book seems to say that it's a No No.

I get that some lubricants can actually attract dirt and thus abrade that which they are supposed to lube.

GT85 seems to be a mix of WD40 and PTFE - so maybe the PTFE helps prevent dirt being attracted - after all the folks with £3 mountain bikes use in their sprockets so maybe it's the right thing.

Can on order from Amazon - and then maybe it will be possible to pull the step out a bit more easily. Still goes back with a hell of a bang though. I'm not it was ever used by the previous owners - I get the feeling they used a separate step.

As I've said before the Touring range folding step is the bastard child of Arkwright's till from Open All Hours.

That is a most apt description!!

Perhaps they fixed the springs when the builds went to Germany. On my '17 Triton it was a pussy cat. Folded out with a bit of pressure with one foot and went back in easily and quietly.

We don't use ours. It makes the van shake and it drives me mad LOL Much prefer the separate step.

Got the step sorted
It turns out it wasn’t the step but the fixings that hold it to the body. One bolt had come out.( I didn’t know as my daughter had borrowed it for the week) anyway easy fix. Thanks for all your help
