The people who are responsible for these gaffes probably earn a crazy salary and are supposed to be professional Set Designers, Film Producers or very expensive Advertising Companies.
I can understand a Frenchman or a German getting it wrong but it's unforgivable to have someone who is earning a huge dose of money to represent the UK, getting it wrong.
Way way back, before the Great Flood, I remember it was one of the first things I was taught in the Cub Scouts. It's not that difficult if you care about it.

'Having a creative mind and an independent spirit'
As an edited afterthought 
'How does the wife describe you ?'
I've stuck with the same description as in my school report,'needs to pay more attention to what's happening in class' !

It depends what mood she's in
It can range from me being called an "annoying steward of the bar" to "your a very thoughtful a××hole!" We tend to not waste words in our household, terms of endearment I believe it's known as.I think it might be worth me "attaching" some of my school report remarks, very educational.
I had 2 positions of authority at school, milk monitor, which involved giving out 1/3rd of a pint bottles from the crate to others in the class, that was until I broke some
and tripped over the mop and bucket, breaking my arm in 2 places!And ink well monitor! Yep we had those scratchy type pens with nibs in my day, trouble was Aggy used to put stinkbombs in the inkwells, which when pierced with the nib would give off a pungent smell, of course Aggy was well away by this time.
We also used to mix Potassium permanganate and glycerin in a test tube with explosive results!!!
Needless to say Agger got the stick, ruler or dap on numerous occasions, in fact that should be preceded by VERY numerous!
I'd do it ALL again in a heartbeat and not change a thing, and I haven't even mentioned being thrown off my CSE's

Returning to the gripe about the Union Flag, I think they may have changed it since we complained as we caught a glimpse of the ad. on TV on Friday and it looked OK. Again, the power of Twitter and Facebook.
The complaint on their website did not appear and remains unanswered though and the ad. has not been changed on there. Someone's ducking.

We are all doooomed.
Last week on a main ITV channel, we were watching a crime drama or was it a political drama? Anyway in one of the scenes, this appeared:-

Even worse, On Tuesday while watching BBC 4's "A Very British Renaissance" we were taken to meet the proud folk of Oxted, Surrey at their Annual County Fair and this was flown at the entrance :-

Shame on the organisers ( Middle England?) and shame on the BBC who had the option of cutting the 5 second scene had they noticed it.
