I'm still marvelling at the thought of an inflatable step ladder.

Inflatable Donald Trump I've seen but inflatable ladder neh.

Is that what she told you?

She tells everybody that. She's just collecting mugs, and you're the latest in a big collection ...

The outlay vs payback thing is a valid one, but there are some aspects of the decision making which need to be considered:

- Are you planning to keep the van for a long time or is the novelty likely to wear off after 2/3 years?
- Do you love the far superior (IMHO) and wilder campsites that have grass pitches and do not offer EHU?
- Do you have a healthy interest in being self-sufficient (without resorting to a generator)?

Each to their own as always, but rocking up somewhere remote and having everything you need feels good. That's why we went for a washroom in the end, and a solar panel, wind turbine or water wheel is the next on our list :-)

Maybe biomass?

Or even a geothermal pump? You could spend the first week on site digging your 100 metre deep bore hole to sink the pipes... think of the all the free energy!

I'm thinking of putting a flexible one behind the poptop and using velcro strips to secure to the roof, i can then take the cable either through the zipped end of the pop top or down the outside of the van. Should be fairly easy i think.
