A recent pic of my 1985 2CV - unrestored all original (even the chassis !) Don't actually tow the Puck L with it, but have towed a trailer almost the same weight in France and Spain some years ago ! I still own and use it when its not too wet !

Still absolutely love it :)2 CV White Grey 5 © VicPics copy.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

We had a grey and navy blue Charleston which we bought from the Mayor of Brynamman Don't think it was the official car though.
Absolutely great fun to drive with the two chrome headlights sticking up off the front wings we though we were in a Lotus 7. Every time we turned a cormer the car "banked" and sat up on one of its rear wheels and the front windows used to flap up and down like a big bird.
The kids loved it especially when we used to open the roof like a big sardine tin
Our eldest daughter learned how to drive in it and at that time she didn't consider it "cool" so used to duck if she saw someone she knew. Now more than 20 years on and a graduate of art she thinks it was the greatest car we ever owned. Kids eh !!!

I was one half of Hinge & Bracket.

I had four, a decrepit red one that I got for the wife (I know, great swap), then a yellow and black one that I bought for £50 minus a gearbox, a dead easy fix. That was a real beauty.

Next came a nearly new black and maroon Charleston and the last one was identical to the grey and white one in the photograph.

Happy days. Two adults, two kids, two beagles and all our kit, Dorset to Yorkshire and back without a care in the world. Twin cylinder, air-cooled and foot to the floor all the time.

A blue Clubman (square headlights) and a white one with an airdam.
Towed a camping trailer with both, fetched a gas fire, a worktop,
shower screen. All loaded through the roof, everything came out again
except the huge box the fire was in. Two blokes put it in from the loading dock!

I've got to come clean Andy, I'm also an MGB man so that makes me the other half of Hinge and Bracket, what are you like on a piano

Absolute rubbish, but we have MaestroPianoman (sorry too much BL here) aka Piccolo and he does a brilliant supertonic dimished minor 9th, I'm told.

There's also another exceptional pianist in our midst. He knows who I'm talking about but I don't know if he'll own up to it as he's a jolly bashful fellow.

Nearly right, Andy. It's a superonic chromatic minor ninth!

Hinge and Bracket indeed . . .

In my youth, I did drive to the Atlantic coast of France somewhere in my MG Midget, towing a small trailer containing a huge tent (nicknamed Claridges by the children!) and all the clobber. I only went round a roundabout the 'wrong' way once - honest guv!
