I had always coveted my brothers shooting coat, nothing elaborate,
wool mix, big pockets, weather proof to a large degree.
The Lioness bought me one, Hurrah!
So what did Santa bring you?

Perhaps somebody's trying to tell you something?

I had the same message. Amongst other things I had several cycling route maps for the west of the UK. D'ya think she's trying to tell me "On yer bike"?

Perhaps Amanda wants you to buy a tandem and then take her there!

Belated Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year to you both.

A cuppla books and a cuppla CDs and the usual boring jumper.

Can anyone tell me why, after having issued a NO MORE SOCKS decree, I got a further five pairs?

I've just counted and that makes 38 pairs in my sock drawer. It's even had to move to larger premises. I can now last for nearly a tenth of a year without running out of socks, if there is a sudden mandatory ban on washing them.

The answer is in the first line.

It's punishment for being ungrateful.

We decided to just get each other a little something to open as we had no idea this year what to get each other. I got Mark a telescopic pole and a hot air balloon that has a twirly thing underneath it, he took a liking to them when we were last away and so now he can get extra flags or windsocks to use with the pole. I got some lovely fur lined slippers which were much appreciated for my cold feet and a snug fitting hat.

sorry to hear about you sock errrrm problem andy
perhaps you should wear 2 on each foot every day then put in wash basket at the end of every day
socks need a lot handling and a lot of pegs
perhaps a sudden amount on line will help with next years pressie
tha may have to repeat this in November for Christmas and before birthday

That sounds an excellent strategy if only it wasn't me that did the washing and drying and we have no washing line, just a tumbler.

I have, however, amended my Christmas List, which is blutacked to the fridge door. It is now a Birthday List and includes a Sock Decree.

Nothing much, old fruit.

Mrs Pete and I decided that neither of us needed anything beyond our undying love for each other, so we saved the money instead of spending it

Our undying love for each other was evident yesterday when we went to collect a Samsung tablet from tesco which was Marks pressie to himself. I spotted 2 bunches of flowers which were reduced to 25p each so Mark bought them for me. The staff were in stitches when I asked how come I get 50pence worth of flowers and hubby a new tablet.
